About Sea World

Sea World, located on the stunning Gold Coast of Australia, is an awe-inspiring destination that offers a unique combination of marine mammal park, oceanarium, and theme park. Visitors can enjoy a range of attractions, including exciting rides and enthralling animal exhibits. But it’s not all just fun and games. Sea World is committed to promoting conservation through education and an unrelenting determination to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured or orphaned wildlife. It’s this underlying philosophy that truly sets Sea World apart from other theme parks and makes it a truly worthwhile and rewarding destination for all.

Sea World has a rich history that began with Keith Williams creating the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens. These gardens quickly became known for their impressive water ski shows, which combined action, SOS, and aqua ballet. However, in 1971, the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens moved to The Spit, which required major dredging to build a new ski lake. With this move came a new name, and Sea World was born. In addition to water skiing, Sea World introduced marine displays, dolphins, and even a replica of the Endeavour. As if that wasn’t enough, they also included a swimming pool, a licensed restaurant, and a gift shop. The park continued to grow over the years, with the additional acquisition of Marineland and even more shops and food outlets. It’s no surprise that Sea World remains a beloved attraction today.

What to do at Sea World

At Sea World, there are a plethora of rides and attractions that are sure to thrill visitors of all ages. One popular ride is the Storm Coaster, which debuted in 2013. This water coaster, created by Mack Rides, replaced the Bermuda Triangle attraction that had been closed for several years. Visitors can look forward to a thrilling ride that will take them through twists, turns, and drops. Families with young children will enjoy exploring Nickelodeon Land, a themed zone complete with rides specifically designed for kids. Though it started as a Cartoon Network-themed area in 1999, it has since undergone several renovations and re-themes, including a change to Sesame Street in 2007 and a generic ocean theme in 2011. In 2015, it was transformed into Nickelodeon Land, complete with a new roller coaster and four additional rides. The excitement never ends at Sea World.

Sea World is not just a place to see aquatic animals; it’s also home to some thrilling live performances. One show that has captured the hearts of young viewers is Paw Patrol on Holiday. Bringing everyone’s favourite pups – Chase and Marshall – to life on the Nickelodeon Stage, this live stage production has been running since 2017. If dolphins are your thing, the Affinity show is a must-see. The stunning spectacle is hosted at Dolphin Beach, which is the largest sandy bottom lagoon ever built for beloved creatures. You’ll be amazed by their acrobatic tricks and breathtaking beauty. For a more adrenaline-fueled experience, the Jet Stunt Extreme show will surely get your heart racing. Set on Sea World Lake, the jet-ski-based show offers a combination of stunts, pyrotechnics, and action that will leave you breathless. No matter which shows you choose, Sea World is your destination for a fun-filled day.
